To kick off our fertiliser series we thought that we would start by outlining some of the benefits of using liquids. While there a countless benefits we’ve narrowed it down to our top 5, so here they are:
1. Liquids are a cost effective way to provide your plants and soil with valuable nutrients, minerals and trace elements.
For example a 20L drum of Vitec King Kelp Fertiliser valued at $180 will cover approximately 4 hectares or approximately 10 acres which equates to $45 p/h or $18 p/a. With the cost of other alternatives on the rise, liquids – particularly concentrates like ours, are a cost-effective way to feed soil biology and stimulate plant growth.
2. Easy storage.
Because our liquids are concentrates and need to be diluted, they are exceptionally easy to store. For example, a 1,000 IBC will cover approximately 200 hectares and will only take a pallet space in your shed. Liquids can also be pre purchased and stored for extended periods so no need to place orders and wait for your semi-trailer to arrive with your product, you can have the product in the shed ready to go for when YOU need it or have time to apply.
3. Easy to absorb.
As the concentrate is diluted into water and sprayed out as a foliar spray, your plants and soil are able to immediately start to absorb the nutrients from within the product.
4. Mix and match if you please.
Depending on your goals and preferences, our products can be used in conjunction with one another. What this means, is if your soil test requires 2L p/h of Kelp and 5L p/h of fish, you can easily mix the concentrates together before adding the water and applying to your paddocks to create a mix that is just right for your property. Alternatively, if mixing isn’t for you (and it’s not for everyone) the Vitec Combo and Combo Plus are a great way to get the best of both worlds without the hassle of mixing.
5. No withholding periods or nasty chemicals.
Within the Vitec fertiliser range 3 of the 4 liquid fertilisers are certified organic. Our products are kelp and fish based and contain no nasty chemicals which mean they are safe for you, your family, your livestock and your soil biology. While we recommend giving the paddocks a couple of hours to absorb the fertiliser, there are no lengthy withholding periods when using our products so your stock can be back in the paddock straight away.
Ok ok, we’ll stop there as we could go on and on and on 🙂
